Somehow in the middle of the summer I figured I’d never be wearing a 800 fill down alpine climbing parka, yet it was happening…
Standing with 230 others about to start the first ever White Face Sky Running marathon in Lake Placid, New York on Sunday. The race would climb close to 10,000 vertical feet and involved large sections of unmarked terrain in 40 degree weather with rain and sleet.
Oddly, not worried about the outcome, only excited for the moment, I could not stop jumping around.
Fueled up and ready to go! The best part was that I had no idea about what was to come…
What could go wrong?!
The buzz was palpable, more on the event to follow!
