What’s In My Pocket? Alcohol Pads!

“It’s part of the uniform,” I often hear myself lecturing the poor sap who decided to roll without an adequate stash of 140 proof (70%) isopropyl alcohol pads on their person.

We nurses need them for cleaning off IV hubs, PICC caps, body parts, stethoscopes and other various objects. Heck, I even use them to clean off the locking mechanism on the med room door so it will shut properly. I won’t go so far as to tell you a fanny pack is required to hold them, just plant them somewhere within reach, because you will use them frequently.
