Thinking differently about your body: postural salvation

For some ridiculous reasons, we have this notion that the body is fragile and needs to be protected. Our bodies are actually very robust and can take a lot of abuse.


Our conundrum is not that the body is fragile, moreover the issue is that it’s an efficient beast. It scuttles any wasted range of motion it isn’t trained on a regular basis.

If you only ever sit in a chair, then you will function like you’re shaped like a chair. If you only ever run on the treadmill or track, and your body has no way of handling The natural variation that occurs when you were thrown off balance.

Having ideal form at slow speeds and controlled environments is nice, having the capacity to get back to ideal form in turbulent environs its beauty.


These two shots were taken as I’m finishing ultra marathons. Our tissues adapt to the stimulus we deliver!
