What’s In My Pockets? Scissors!

Nerves, butt cracks, and STEEL ON STEEL!!!

I don’t think I’ve yelled, “It’s part of the uniform, sucka!” recently. Not having a pair of scissors would evoke that outburst. There are all sorts of stuff we can cut, even if we are just making decorative snowflakes for the winter pancake social.

  • Dressing changes
  • Making our own split gauze for JP/PEG tube dressings
  • Cutting off the end of Foley tube connector to put an NG to gravity
  • Cutting elastic on tight hospital socks to prevent extremity edema
  • Shaping wound vac foam

You get the drift, they cut stuff. Good, don’t let me catch you without a pair.
