Perhaps we can just draw our way into the knock-out round?
|FC Girondins de Bordeaux||3||2|
|FC Rubin Kazan||3||2|
Realistically, we’re going to need to win one of our remaining three fixtures in the group and that may be all we need. I would prefer to win out and snatch the number one seed.
Klopp has instilled a new level energy and work rate, but you can see the frustration on the faces of the players. We desperately need to regain fitness to truly see what Kloppo has in mind for the squad. A healthy Daniel Sturridge (oxymoron, I know) solves a lot of problems, but we need Benteke, Firmino and most importantly Henderson back on the pitch. Coutinho still needs to find consistency. Milner has performed admirably, but he is no Gerrard.
I feel Klopp has done incredibly well to temper expectations and take the focus off the players, he deserves the time. However, you can feel a watershed moment coming of either blast off or plummeting off the cliff should we drop must have points. The upcoming transfer window will be extremely interesting. I’ll stick to my prediction of agreeing to terms with Marco Reus, but his inability to pass the medical.
On to Southampton tomorrow, COME ON YOU REDS!
