Who knows? Maybe we’ll keep Penteke…
I honestly believe there’s a good footballer in Christian Benteke. That is what I tell myself before I go to bed at night. I lay there rationalizing how he has failed to make his way into Klopp’s plans. No doubt Origi is making some progress, but it’s not like he’s clearly better than Benteke, he just runs more (which makes him better in Klopp’s tactics).
James Milner apparently doesn’t like playing full back as evidenced by picking up a second yellow seconds after Flanno was subbed off. Classic Milner!
We were lucky today, but let’s face it, some times you make your own luck. Firmino was up and ready to press after losing possession and was given the gift of a failed clearance from McCarthy, cooly slotting home to bring us level.
The thing that shocked me, going back to my good Benteke theory, he made a run into the box! Not only that, but he was clipped ever so slightly by a Delaney’s knee as he looked for options in the box. Live it looked like a penalty. Andre Marriner didn’t think so, but the linesman made him a believer and we ended up stealing all three points after Tekkers converted the penalty.
