Digging in the Dirt: Globe Thistle

The party is just getting started!

This lovely little import from Holland is currently my favorite bloomer. Globe thistle blooms into mature golf ball sized flowers that bumble bees can’t resist. It’s a thistle, so its foliage is somewhat spiky and green with silvery stems. The plant love sun.

Budding in the Spring.

Globe Thistle “Veitch’s Blue” (Echinops Ritro):

  • Hardiness zones: 3-8

Last year’s bloom at my mother-in-laws. Stealing some this Autumn!
